It’s that time again, its starting to get darker sooner, every year we start to feel a little more blah a little more blue.

We crave the sun for a reason, and it’s not all emotional.  We physically need vitamin D to help us with many of the millions of processes that go on in our bodies at all times.  The latest research is saying that almost everyone should have vitamin D every winter, so check out your local health food store for some ideas.

There are many other things that can help us get through the winter blues.

We don’t get anywhere near the amount of nutrients that we need this time of year.  The fruit and vegetables aren’t in season so they don’t contain the same amount of nutrients that we get in the summer.  Plus who wants to eat a cold salad on a cold day.  It is important to trust our instincts and go with warming foods, lots of great soups and stews should be on the menu.  Remember to load them full of root vegetables, herbs and spices.  A multi vitamin can really be beneficial for most individual to help with the lack of certain vitamins and minerals.  The higher our nutritional status the better we will feel.
